carol simmons csimmons59@tampabay.rr.com 12-21-2009 12:53:13 PM EST Remember that the deadline for the January newsletter is coming up on Christmas Eve, December 24th. I still need several articles. Have you turned yours in yet?
Also, Steve & I tried out the new Italian place that Dottie recommended. It was great!! Authentic foods, great spice blend, hot and delicious. the restaurant is called San Vito, and it's at the Village Shops, where the old K-mart building is. You can ask Bill & Flo Gilbert about San Vito too.. They had lunch with us there. I have a few menus if you'd like to stop by for one. (Lot 310).
Flo & Bill had word that Glen Dalton is in serious condition. He's in an Indiana hospital with heart troubles. He needs our prayers.
Gail 12-21-2009 11:37:51 AM EST The office will be closing early, at noon, on Monday the 21st so Chuck and I can attend the Bloomfield-St. Pete Properties Christmas luncheon. Thank you!

carol simmons 12-19-2009 4:20:51 PM EST Hey Dottie, for the ignorant ones among us (ME), where is the old K-Mart building?
dottie 12-19-2009 6:49:11 AM EST I ate at a new restaurant in the old Kmart building last night. Italian, the spaghetti I had was very good and our own group Mercy performs there every Friday night, except for the next two weeks and they will perform on Saturday nights. Prices are reasonable, check it out.

Renee 12-14-2009 10:02:27 AM EST I want to thank Linda and John Markin too... I know they have deliveried almost 2,500 cards. Thank god for "in park mail" with the boxs in the drive ways. No stamps need. Bless the hands of those who delivery. Please put the persons first and last name along with both the lot # and street address to help them out.
carol simmons 12-13-2009 9:28:46 AM EST It's me again. Have you seen a sweet little lady running from house to house, with envelopes piled high in her hands? One busy elf, if you ask me. Thanks to Linda Markin for all her footwork in delivering the in-park cards. And, don't forget her loving hubby, John, who drive the golf cart, even with cold hands.

Janice J 12-13-2009 1:38:01 AM EST the girls sure know how to have fun
Janice J 12-13-2009 1:36:13 AM EST Thanks very much for all who attended the dance on Saturday night and also for everyone who pitched in to help clean up the kitchen. David and I appreciated it. Paul and Shirley were surprised at the park's generosity and were glad everyone enjoyed their music. "Just Friends" came with their own music schedule and it was awfully hard for them to venture too far away from it. Some had requests for cha cha's, and more waltz's and they can certainly
fulfil those in the future. They are a Rock and Roll band of the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's and I think all that attended will agreed the oldies sounded really good. Here are just a few of pictures I took...Janice
Jan McCray-Sherburne 12-12-2009 7:28:29 PM EST June Bongers and I had a little something special going on. I have and will dearly miss her. Like Renee said she barked, and when she barked you had better not be in the way. The first time I realy met her was at bingo, she was barking. The next time I was at bingo I went up to her and gently pushed her out of my way, she turned around tight fisted set it on top of my head and said you little shit do you know who you are pushing. Quietly, I said yes I do get the hell out of my way. She started laughing so hard she could harly contain herself. We became fast friends.I remember her well. There are many of us that can tell some good stories. She had mouth like a BUCK and a heart of a DOE. loved her dearly.
sue janssen 12-12-2009 12:20:35 PM EST i was shocked to hear of june's passing. she was one of a kind and was missed greatly when they let the park. she was very active and a driving force. she will be missed.

Renee Sammons 12-11-2009 10:00:36 PM EST Ruth Lowery just called with some bad news, a very well known former resident June Bongers past away 2 days ago. She will be missed, She was like a drill sargent, when she talked you listened... When Willie and I first moved in here, She came over she lived in lot 7. Put a head lock on Willie and said you will be going to the next pot luck. She was like the unoffical Mayor of Chulavista. She was gruff with a heart of gold. Karl her husband and her were very involved in the park I was sad to them go. June will live in the hearts of many of the Chula Family... God bless and remember Karl and her family in your prayers
