Wanda 05-30-2011 11:13:10 AM EST The American flag does not fly because the wind moves past it-The American flag flies from the last breath of each military member who has died protecting it, American soldiers don't fight because they hate what's in front of them...they fight because they love what's behind them." Thank you to all who have served!
May God bless them and their families.
wanda 05-30-2011 10:59:52 AM EST We come, not to mourn our dead soldiers, but to praise them.
How important it is for us to recognize and celebrate our heroes and she-roes!

Dorothy 05-27-2011 8:31:07 AM EST Weather in New York is getting nice after the rain. It's been in the 80'S. I don't like being retired it's BORING!! But, on the brighter side I'm going on a cruise to Bermuda with Ron's sister in two weeks, leaving Ron on his own again!
Renee Pat Zickefoose 05-27-2011 6:51:13 AM EST
(I recieved this from Pat and reposted it) Hi Friends,
I am requesting prayer for my sisters who live in Joplin Missouri. My baby sister,Debbie lost almost everything. She had minor injuries from being trapped under debree. She rented her home which was destroyed and most of her belongings were either destroyed or missing.
she is a strong person but this has really traumatized her. She has to totally start over. Please remember her in your prayers for strength and smoothness in finding a new place and getting settled into a new life.
My next younger sister fared much better. The tornado blew all of the windows on one side of her house out. Three or 4 trees were blown over and 2 fell on her car. The worst of that was a shattered windshield and a few dents and scratches. So far, she is holding up but I am sure it is going to hit her soon. I can't imagine what it's like to go through something like that.
My niece also suffered windows blown out and a hole in her roof which caused water leaking on some of her furniture. She was at work so didn't experience the roar and trauma of the tornado.
Thank you,
Pat Zickefoose

m 05-26-2011 10:15:30 AM EST We are building an ark in Michigan. I don't know where everyone else is. We got almost 2 inches of rain last night and it is supposed to rain until this evening and then again tomorrow and Saturday. I was happy with Scotty on idol but it's too bad they couldn't both win. Personally I was a James Durbin fan. I think he has a very promising career ahead of him as do all of them this year. I like that kind of music . Glad to see him perform with Judas Priest last night, He can hang with the best of them I think
sue j 05-25-2011 11:35:17 PM EST thought we might need to start building the arc today. had to pick up our son from grand rapids airport; his son graduates from high school thursday and he flew in for the ceremony. it is always good to see him. looks like there are going to be changes to the park when we get back; can't wait. take care all
Renee 05-25-2011 10:16:01 PM EST OK it happened American Idol picked Scotty. But we all will be hearing from both of them. Good Luck Kids. PS where is the Chula family?????????
Renee rsammons55@yahoo.com 05-25-2011 10:56:18 AM EST The park owners hired a company to replace sewer pipes. This is on Turtleback Way and Gangway LP
Renee rsammons55@yahoo.com 05-25-2011 10:46:56 AM EST Finishing up the last of the Veterans Memorial bridge. Replaced all the boards new decking and sides. Great Job, Chuck, Mark and Rich!
Renee 05-24-2011 9:05:00 PM EST WOW American Idol watchers... What great show. 2 Kids a boy Scotty Age 17 and a girl Age 16 Lauren. Great COUNTRY singers. Both will go FAR! I'm voting for Lauren! U GO GIRL!
carol simmons 05-24-2011 8:50:24 AM EST Marie, just saw your post about the oriole and his reflection. Made me think of Jean Kesterson and her male cardinal. He's defending territory from his own reflection in her driver door window of her van. He's often out there, beating his little red chest against the window. He sits on the side mirror and watches himself. Then, he springs into attack mode. Jean has to clean bird poop off that side of the van frequently. Hilarious to watch!
Marie Janssen 05-23-2011 10:40:20 PM EST The tree is beautiful and I am glad the pool is open. The one where my daughter lives will open this weekend. Hope to use it a lot this summer if the weather cooperates. Sue and I are going to the new casino here tomorrow. Hope we get lucky and win a little
