MANAGEMENT CORNER
We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. The turn-out for dinner at the clubhouse was wonderful to see. We know we enjoyed it, and hope everyone else did as well.
As we celebrate the beginning of our ninth year as Chulavista Landings’ resident managers (has it REALLY been 8 years? It seems like yesterday), we look forward to continued enjoyment of our community and its residents. However, we also have been looking back, and remembering.
Many residents have come and gone. Now we are seeing the “Baby Boomers” buying homes, retiring or about to retire. The number of activities is increasing as the median age of our residents decreases. There’s nothing wrong with that! The old saying “The more active you stay the longer you’ll stay active” is very true!
We have seen many physical changes in our community as well. The clubhouse renovations; the addition of the porch and storage room; the inlet dredging and new docks; the shuffleboard courts resurfacing and fencing; the pool and pool deck; the office and rec hall renovations and the addition of AC, and much more. In some ways it is hard to remember what all of these were like before, and in some ways we wouldn’t want to! Remember trying to cook or clean up in the old kitchen? “Tight quarters” doesn’t even begin to describe it!
We wish to take this opportunity to thank all of you, whether you have been here for two years or 20, for all that you do to make this community as special as it is. Without your efforts, your input, and your concerns, we wouldn’t still be here. Nor could we truly say “This is not just a community, but a family”.
Merry Christmas, and God Bless You All!
Gail and Chuck
