Just catching up on all the news. Renee, I love this site, you have done such a great job. It looks like everyone has been pretty busy, as we have been up north. The weather has been very hot and humid until yesterday. We've gone from 80's and 90's to 59 today. What a shock to the system, hopefully we will be back to normal soon! I'm looking forward to getting back to Chulavista next month. See you then!

 Janssen Family Reunion Quite a group and that isn't even half of them Wow what a family. Pat and Sue's daughter and her husband sponsored reunion this year and did a mighty fine job. Next year will be hosted by the Johnson family in Wisconsin

Miss all of the gang in Florida. Look forward to seeing you all soon. Weather in Michigan has been marvelous, hot but not as hot as in Florida. Can't wait to come down and do some fishing and line dancing. It is nice being in MI with our wonderful family. We are going to be great-grandparents in November finally. whoot whoot. I forgot to add; in Valdese, in Burke County, there is a winery called Waldensian Winery. It is a little off the beaten path, but well worth the effort. Anyone in Valdese can tell you how to get there. It is an old fashioned, family operated, everything done by hand place, and tastings are free!! Bring me home a bottle or two of Waldensian Rose or White and I will be VERY grateful!

You folks are in our previous neck of the woods! Our son lives in Lenoir, just a little south of Boone. If you get around Morganton, Pisgah National Forest, Linville Gorge, Lake James, that was our county, Burke. I also worked in Rutherford County, south of there, where Chimney Rock and Lake Lure are. It is all GORGEOUS! If you go to Ashville make sure you get into the Old City or go to the Biltmore Estate. And eat at Joe's Crab Shack. YUMMY!!

Were on the road again with Larry & Lillie Henry in Boone North Carolina were going to mine for gems and whatever else we find to get into - Its so beautiful here - we went yesterday to Mount Airy - where they filmed the Andy Griffith Show we'll see you all the middle of Oct - Dottie glad everything went well for you and your back home

It has been beautiful here in Ontario this week. Nothing but sunshine and great temps. Reminds me of Ruskin!! No changes to come all next week either.Good way to end off a wonderful summer. Miss you all though

glad your surgery went so well Dottie. Wish you a speedy recovery. Had a great time at Bob and Marie's 50th anniversary party last night. will pay for it today but it sure was fun when it was happening. there was a great turn out.

Hi everyone I'm home. Surgery went well, they found my old artificial knee had deteriorated so badly that my bone was getting eaten away so surgery took 4 hours. I have to wear a brace for 6 weeks and take therapy. I will be getting around as well as I can for know, but before you know it I'll be back playing shuffleboard, volleyball etc. Thanks for all your warm thoughts and cards. I appreciated them very much, if you need a check or anything don't hesitate to call me.

Mornin' all. Tomorrow is supposed to be the deadline for our final summer newsletter, but I'm going to move it forward to next Wednesdday, Setember 1st. I've been too busy this week (doctors, meetings, etc.) to spend much time with the publication. Sorry if this inconveniences anyone, but can't be helped. The change will give you more time to turn in an article to me. Thanks for your patience!!!!

Summer Hot Hog Tuesday + Mel and Linda Dwyer. They read the menu and placed their order, Bonnie had wrote "Smile you're on Candid Camera" on the bottom of the menu. Melvin as Linda calls him has the nerve to try and RUN when I got the camera out!!!! LOL but I got ya!
