Dear Family and Friends, It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that Mom passed away this evening. Funeral services are not completed yet, so will let you know in an e-mail tomorrow, but more than likely the visitation will be Thursday afternoon/evening and funeral on Friday. It is for certain that the arrangements will be at Milward's Funeral Home on Southland Drive in Lexington. Thank you all for your many prayers said during her illness. To all of her friends in Florida, she missed you all so much and loved each and everyone of you. We understand that you can't be here, but please know there wasn't a day that went by that she didn't think of you all and the great times she had down there. Love to you all, Carolyn Delaney Elliott

Dear family and friends, I'm sending this note to update you on Mom's condition. It continues to deteriorate; she's been sleeping continuously since Friday. She's unable to eat or drink which, according to Hospice, is quite normal during the last days. Please continue to pray for Mom; she is ready to go home to the Lord and Dad. Love - Carolyn

Dear Family and Friends, Just to update you with the most recent information in Mom and to ask you to continue praying for her and our family. My brother came in from Florida on Saturday and we were able to bring Mom home from the hospital yesterday. The hospital doctors say that her prognosis is poor because of her leukemia, heart problems and now the respiratory problems but they would not venture a guess as to her longevity. However, they referred her to Hospice which means that the prognosis is truly poor. Hospice nurse came over last night to complete the paper work to accept Mom into the program. I admire these people and the work they do - they have to be extremely dedicated and caring to deal with the "end of life" issues people face. According to the Hospice nurse, and based on her many years of experience working there - she says mom has just weeks, maybe a month because of her condition. Of course, we thought Dad was "leaving us" several times but he fought and lasted nearly 16 months! But Mom isn't fighting...she wants to "go home and be with Bill" so she isn't going to make any effort to get fiesty. We are doing our best to keep her comfortable, safe and at home. Please pray that we know the right things to do...and anything else you think we need praying for because my mind is so jumbled and pain-ridden right now that I can't think clearly. I will keep you all posted as to how she is doing. I share with her your sweet e-mails, cards and phone calls so that she knows you all still love her. Love - Carolyn

A lot of people brought a comfortable chair to sit in while watching the movie on the big screen. Thanks you Dottie for getting it all together and thank your helpers, Marilyn, Bev. Also Lynn and Sue for picking up all the pizzas!
