I'm with you Dave I have a 29 foot Scarab that will barely break 60. My wife is sick, she is the reason we bought this boat. I think we will keep running until they pry it from my cold dead hands.

I am with you Mr Plott. I was at the lake Saturday and stopped by and looked at a Sea Ray 280 Sundancer and 300 Sundancer. I pulled up the spec sheet on the 300 and this cruiser weighs in at a whopping 12,900 lbs, dry!!! This SOB should part the water like Moses parted the Red Sea. At 25 mph this bad boy would produce a wake that would splinter a dock and put pontoon boats up in the yard... but it is LEGAL. Also, Baja is going to discontinue the 25 Outlaw and replace it with a new 26 Outlaw. With a 525 EFI, ought to be good for 75 + mph... but it is LEGAL. My Baja is 27 feet, 2 inches in length and might squeak out 63 mph with the right prop. Talking about sitting on the bubble. I might just chance my luck and keep right on cruising and make 'em prove it will run "in excess of 60 mph". My poor wife, bless her heart, is in tears. She loves "her" boat.

Ran out of room. Call everyone you know to respond to this. Brothers, sisters, nephews, long lost cousins. I don't care. This is our last hope. NOT posting anything on the Forum, I know the enemies are watching.

I just got off the phone with someone in the KNOW. She gave me some important infor. Go to www.alabama.gov. Look for Riley's picture in the upper righthand corner. Then click on: Visit Governor Riley Online. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Contact. This page will give you all the numbers, address, and a e-mail link to the Governor's office. She also said, whichever option you choose, to be sure to tell why you are contacting the Governor's Office. Be sure to tell them this is in regards to HB756! She said there is alot of controversy on HB756!!!

I just wonder why the news papers here are not giving this any coverage? Mabe ALPCO has them hushed up... heard today that the law was not going to pass but we will see... a couple of lobbiest had said that ALPCO was spending about 250,000.00 a day to push this thru thats a sad thing... the artical in the daily home said it all though. If you look at the list of lakes that are left, all are close to the Atlanta side of the state. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure this out... even I get it... I guess the good ole boy system is alive and well here in the great state of Alabama...

Imagine what that engine would do to a "legal" size 26 foot Eliminator Daytona !!!! It could be classified as a strategic weapon and hence would be named "Seek And Destroy".

Angry In Iraq, you need to be aware (and you need to tell all of your deployed Alabama friends) that the legislature is in trouble with the US Justice Department right now because the legislature doesn't seem to be able to come up with an electronic means (fax, signed email, etc) of letting deployed Alabama soldiers vote. But they have plenty of time to make deals over a boat issue that would ban big boats on three local Alabama lakes and spur development of an exclusive/pricy community on Lake Harris. You need to get your friends to find a DSN/overseas line ASAP and call their senators/representatives. The Justice Department is in the process of prosecuting the State of Alabama now over this matter.
