well the old baja is back in the swamp. got to run her yesterday, and the engine ran flawlessly. the difference from before is amazing. the guys at Cathouse did a great job. THANKS!!! we had a great time in Bama this weekend!!

RPM,5050 X 26"PROP = 131,300... 1.5 DRIVE RATIO X 1056 = 1584....SO, HERE IS THE MATH.. 131,300 DIVEDED BY 1584 = 82.8 MPH... 82.8 MPH X 14%(PROP SLIP)- = 71.2 ACTUAL MPH DIFFERENT HULLS ARE MORE EFFECIENT THAN OTHERS. A CAT HAS LESS SLIP, AND A HEAVY V-BOTTOM HAS MORE. BUT USUALLY, 10-15% IS NORMAL SLIP AND WILL GET YOU CLOSE.

The theoretical speed is figured by multiplying the pitch x engine rpm and dividing by (gear reduction x 12) = feet per minute. Divide by 5280 = Miles per minute, multiply x 60 = miles per hour. This can be shortened to (Pitch x RPM) / (Reduction x 1056) = MPH. (Don't forget to deduct 10-13% for prop slip) Cats are less slip 8-10% range.

 All I'll say is we picked up 10-12mph. Engine turned 5,050rpm with 1.5 ratio and 26 pitch prop. You have to do the math. It was fun though. Lookin' foreward to Saturday, hangin' at the shop and making a test run with my Cajun buddy. Thanks for the business Andy.

got to hear the engine run yesterday, now Steve just called and said they did a test run in the old outlaw this afternoon. The engine sounds SWEEEEEEEET! Steve put a 26p 4-blade up from a 23 3-blade. The boat ran ____ mph and the cruise speed picked up by ____ mph. HAHA you didn't think I was gonna tell you yet did ya? (Hint..may need a bigger prop, we'll see)
