Active Shooter-Killer Training for Civilians:

Arms To Bear has been teaching the solo officer/civilian response to the active shooter/killer for almost 2 years which is now becoming popular with law enforcement. The solo officer/civilian response to the active shooter is the only viable and most important – timely response for Law Enforcement to prevent high numbers of casualties. The absolute best response to the active killer is a competent, willing armed law enforcement officer or citizen who is at the scene of the event when it occurs. The active killer problem is solved by citizens as opposed to law enforcement 75% of the time. This first of its kind class in our area will cover the history of the active killer and the three levels of active killers including terrorist incidents.  Preventing terrorism will be discussed as well. Traditional active killer’s statistics and facts, mental preparation, fears of the first responder and typical timeline of response are included. Options of response as taught through the Response Options (Alice Program) for both armed and unarmed are discussed and practiced in live fire and force on force scenarios. Course will also include “battlefield pickup” of weapons and their familiarization. The third day will be predominantly force on force scenarios. $525 per person

Citizen Homeland Defense/Survival Course:

The answers to these questions are dependent on so many variables that there is no definite answer other than whatever it takes to survive. However, it is beyond a doubt that the great majority of our citizens are in no way prepared to deal with a terrorism event similar to that experienced in Beslan or Mumbai.  Our citizens' reactions will mirror those seen in those locales: try to stay out of sight of the terrorists, secure in place, and hope like heck that law enforcement or the military gets to them before they get to us. This is not a recipe for survival. There are so many more options available to our citizens when attacked, unfortunately most are unaware what those options are. And of those that are, most will lack the necessary training and mindset to put those skills to beneficial use. For many years, we have heard from our fellow officers and soldiers in the tactical and special operations communities that you cannot teach tactics and skills to civilians. Our philosophy is that we are all citizens, and it's the citizens who are the target. Arms To Bear Security Specialists believes to not offer survival skills to those who are the target is incredibly short-sighted. Look at the ability of law enforcement and the military to "quickly" respond and neutralize these terror attacks. 9/11 should have taught us that it will be left up to the citizens to decide how much carnage those who wish us harm will achieve. It's time for the public safety community to acknowledge the need of the citizen's help in all facets of these evil events - To include proactive escape, interfering with the terrorist's ability to engage static and passive targets, and even putting a stop to the killing and injuring of mass number of innocent victims by engaging the terrorists themselves.

Our Citizen Survival Course will include:

  • Survival Shooting Skill
  •  Use of Cover and Concealment
  •  Distraction Techniques
  •  Engagement Tactics
  •  Equipment Choices
  •  Escape and Extraction Tactics
  •  Field-Trauma First Aid
  •  Long-term Disaster Survival Strategies

  Class Modules:

  • Day One: Preparing for Violence, Firearms
  • Day Two: Hand to Hand Combat, Improvised First Aid

Total Cost For The Two Day Course $1150
