Luther Granger born in 1826 came to Fort Ann, NY from Warrensburg, NY and married Sarah North of West Fort Ann.

Their children were:

1. Elias B. Granger born 1848 and married Alidia born 1848. 1880 census lists a son George born 1875

2. Martin Luther Granger born 1850, died Dec. 5, 1916 and married Didame Steves

3. Edgar born 1853 and married Loisa born 1857 (1880 census lists son Charles Granger born 1876)

4. Armena born August 27, 1854 and died June 2, 1943. She married Samuel Edgar Rathbun, born September 2, 1847 and died August 25, 1905. Born and died in Fort Ann. He was the son of Elijah B. Rathbone born June 4, 1815 in Stephentown, NY and died April 11, 1867 in Fort Ann and Abigail Rathbone born March 16, 1811 and died March 28, 1899. They were married November 9, 1843. Somewhere around this time the name was changed to Rathbun.

Their children were:

I. Edgar Clarence born June 27, 1875 and died April 22, 1937 in Fort Ann. Edgar married Gertrude Steves born February 8, 1877 and died September 14, 1956. They were married September 18, 1895.

Their children were:

a. Ruth born January 16, 1897 and died May 21, 1981. She married Julius H. Hunt of Clemons, Town of Dresden, NY who was born April 24, 1887 and died July 12, 1966. They were married September 13, 1926.

b. Clarence born November 19, 1899 died September 5, 1971. He married Lucinda Maranville.

c. Amy born March 7, 1902 and died 1988. She married Lee Thayer from Western NY state.

Edgar and Gertrude also had 3 baby boys who died.

II. Charles born August 10, 1875 and died April 22, 1937 in Fort Ann. Married Elizabeth Benton.

Their children were:

Eunice married a Fifield, Raymond, Walter, Marion who married a Fuller, Elizabeth who married a Saunders, Dorothy married Dick Yole, Harold and Sadie who married a Graham.

III. Almon born April 23, 1885 died March 17, 1974. Armena lived with him in Fort Ann in later years.

IV. Luther born May 6, 1879 and died January 10, 1918. He was herding sheep near Rocky Ford in Kansas when he died. He is buried at Welsh Hollow Cemetery.

V. Sarah Rathbun, born November 11, 1871 and died December 24, 1942 Married Frederick Dagles first and Larry Dacy second.

VI. Melissa Rathbun, born March 18, 1873 and died January 17, 1908

5. Josephine born 1856 and died 1920 married Oscar Keech 1849-1932, son of Asa and Irene Osgood Keech; (had daughter Lillian 1873-1931 who married Charles Campney 1863-1944)

6. Mary Granger 1863-1922 married Ed Maranville born 1857.

Luther Granger died July 31, 1878 after an accident according to Almon Rathbun.

Sarah was still living in 1892 in Fort Ann with daughter Julia. She is probably the Sarah A. Granger who died at Dresden, NY Feb. 7, 1909. Her funeral was from the Fort Ann Baptist Church and she was buried Sheldon Cemetery, Fort Ann. Age 80 years 11 months and 7 days.
