Located 12 miles northeast of Uptown Charlotte, Lowe's Motor Speedway is truly the "Mecca of Motorsports". The 167,000 seat speedway annually hosts NASCAR NEXTEL Sprint Cup, Busch Racing, Nationwide and Craftsman Truck Series races; gigantic AutoFairs, a 10-week Legends Car Summer Shootout Series, stock car driving schools and a variety of annual events at The Dirt Track. In 2008 LMS opened the zMAX Dragway @ Concord, setting a new standard for drag racing facilities around the world. Opening May 11, 2010 in Charlotte’s Center City, the 150,000-square-foot NASCAR Hall of Fame is a multi-faceted, unique attraction honoring the history and heritage of NASCAR. The high-tech venue, designed to educate and entertain race fans and non-fans alike, includes a state-of-the-art theater, Hall of Honor, restaurant, retail outlet, broadcast studio, artifact displays and interactive exhibits. The site includes a privately developed 19-story office tower and 102,000-square-foot expansion to the Charlotte Convention Center, highlighted by a 40,000 square-foot ballroom. The NASCAR Hall of Fame is owned by the City of Charlotte, licensed by NASCAR and operated by the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority.

 In 1984, Rick Hendrick started Hendrick Motorsports with an unsponsored car, five employees and just 5,000 square feet of space.  Over twenty years later, the organization has evolved into one of NASCAR's top teams with nine championships and over 100 NEXTEL Cup victories.  The Hendrick Motorsports Museum is a must-stop for all stock car racing fans. Inside the museum, see Hendrick Motorsports' most famous stock cars, sports car exhibits and championship trophy displays. Check out Rick Hendrick's first Chevrolet. Located on 125 acres of Lowe's Motor Speedway property adjacent to The Dirt Track, zMAX Dragway @ Concord will feature a 34,000 square-foot starting-line tower with luxury suites and an additional 4,000 square feet of roof access for guests; two pedestrian tunnels under the strip; and a grandstand seating capacity of 30,000. zMAX Dragway @ Concord will open in grand fashion by hosting the NHRA Nationals Sept. 11-14. The four-day event will be the first of six races in the playoff-style NHRA POWERade Countdown to the Championship, featuring competitors in all four professional categories: Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle.

The Dirt Track at Lowe's Motor Speedway is a state-of-the-art facility opened in 2000 and seats 14,500 people. Featuring a four-tenths-mile red clay oval, the Dirt Track hosts a schedule of special events featuring late model stock cars, World of Outlaws, sprint cars and car-crushing monster trucks.

Dale Earnhardt Inc. continues the Legacy of the 7-time Champion, Dale Earnhardt through its incredible museum which depicts the life and times of one of NASCAR’s most popular drivers. The museum features trophies, cars, mementos and video from Dale’s life and those that raced for him, while the Retail store features exclusive Dale Earnhardt Inc. merchandise not available elsewhere. Displays change frequently with special activities held during May and October Race week. This is Busch's PERSONAL race shop.  Its public showroom displays such vehicles as the first care he raced in, his Victory Lane flags and die casts of every race car he's driven.  Fans can look through a glass window into the bay where Busch parks his race car hauler and practices his baseball swing when the hauler is away.  Behind that is Busch's personal-and private-shop area where he restores cars and relaxes on a sofa.  He keeps several cars most special to him there, including the '64 Volkswagen Bug he drove in high school.

The self-guided tour of the museum is a unique experience. You'll see historical photos, trophies, race vehicles and educational sponsor displays. Racing sights and sounds can be seen and heard from inside the theater. Before leaving, browse through the store to find your favorite driver's exclusive line of Roush Racing apparel, merchandise and award-winning die-cast.

JR Motorsports is the home of Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s racing operation, with teams competing at different levels in the stock car racing ranks, including two NASCAR Nationwide Series teams. This large 66,000-square-foot facility houses all of the teams, as well as the business operations of JR Motorsports. It also houses JR Nation, a retail store devoted exclusively to Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his JR Motorsports brand. The store offers a wide variety of merchandise including shirts, hats, and collectibles that reflect Dale"s taste and personal style.

The museum represents two business interests and passions of Mike Curb, the museum’s owner. A long-time motorsports enthusiast, Curb is the owner and founder of the leading country music record label in the country. Current recording artists under the Curb label include Wynonna Judd, Tim McGraw, LeeAnn Rimes, Hank Williams, Jr. and Lyle Lovett, as well as a host of stars of tomorrow. Over the years, Curb has owned cars driven by NASCAR legends including
Dale Earnhardt , Richard Petty, Dale Jarrett, Ron Bouchard and Johnny Sauter. This star-studded blend of auto racing and country music is well represented at the museum. The exhibits – once crowded at the old museum site several blocks away – now command their new 20,000-square-foot home.  The museum showcases NASCAR, Indy and modified race cars, as well as LeeAnn Rimes’ very first car, a 1995 black Dodge Viper. Two rare glimpses of NASCAR history are on display front and center in the new museum’s street-side windows – the #2 car Dale Earnhardt drove in his first Winston Cup Championship and the #43 car Richard Petty drove in his 199th Winston Cup win – sister-car to the one Petty drove in his 200th Winston Cup win that now resides at the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, DC. Images of popular recording artists cover the museum’s walls, stand on life-sized cardboard cut-outs and even appear on the hoods of a few race cars. Displayed among the auto racing memorabilia are gold record awards, autographed posters from country and pop superstars and tons of photos of recording artists.  Hours: Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm.

If you cherish automobiles, racing or history, this museum has something for you. According to Donald Farr, editor of Super Ford Magazine, "Memory Lane Museum has the largest private collection of retired NASCAR and vintage race cars on display in existence." Jan-Feb on Sat 10am-5pm. Mar-Dec on Mon-Sat 10am-5pm.

The museum features over 35 racecars dedicated to all types of auto racing. Re-live racing's greatest moments in the Goodyear Mini-Theater or simply stroll by the many showcases and displays. The Art Gallery features many of motorsports' top artists including Garry Hill, Sam Bass and Jeanne Barnes. The Gift Shop carries a wide selection of racing memorabilia.

NASCAR SpeedPark is 7-acre race-themed amusement park that bridges the gap between family amusement venues and the professional NASCAR racing circuit.
