About Sanjaya Malakar
Sanjaya Malakar was born on September 10, 1989 in Seattle Washington. Sanjaya now lives in Federal way Washington. He has also lived in Hawaii and California. Sanjaya went to Shorecrest High School in Shoreline, Washington for one year and then transferred to Todd Beamer High School in Federal Way, Washington. Sanjaya dropped out of High school to persue his great love of music, but he did get his GED. Sanjaya also performed for four years with the Hawaii Children's Theater group.
Sanjaya's Musical Influences
Sanjaya has said that "they were raised around music", and that his father was a classical Indian musician. Sanjaya credits his father for helping give him his strong singing voice. He also credits his mother for surrounding him with music his entire life. Sanjaya's idol is Stevie Wonder and has said that he's been singing to his music for as long as he can remember. Sanjaya has a cousin whose name is Camila. You can listen to a duet that he did with her called "friends" on Camila's Myspace page.
